2016: A Year in Review

2016. In some ways it feels as though we blinked and it was over. In other ways, this year has challenged, inspired, deflated, and demanded that we act for justice, equality, and compassion. With whatever emotion you are looking back at this year with, it is undeniable that this year impacted each of us, every one of our communities, and all of our work in the world.

    • Through Circles of Change and Ophelia's Place educational engagements we reached: 
      • 4,412 Individuals
      • 615 College Students, representing 14 colleges and universities 
      • 175 High School Students
      • 155 'First Responders'
    • Love Your Body U:
      • Launched a 6-Week Pilot Program in partnership with KMB for Answers to help college students cultivate a healthy body image.
  • COMMUNITY: 
    • Through our partnership with Cafe at 407, we have continued to create space for authentic community. Additionally, we have expanded partnerships with other local organizations and businesses to create a community network in Syracuse and Phoenix.

In 2016 we:

  • Engaged more than 4,412 individuals in programming. 
  • Distributed 9,500 'Every Body is Beautiful' clings and stickers that have been spotted as far away as Rome and Australia
  • Grown our Circles of Change product line by 62% 
  • Grew Social Media Engagement: 
    • Instagram: 143% growth
    • Twitter: 195% growth 
    • Facebook: 23% growth 
  • Expanded presence in Phoenix, AZ
  • Hosted 3 screenings of Embrace, the Documentary

In 2017 we will:

  • Host the Inagural Circles of Change Conference in Phoenix, AZ.
  • Launch Circles of Change Book Clubs across the country. 
  • Launch Women Who Run mindful running and team fundraising program. 
  • Increase our Circles of Change staff, hiring a Director of Marketing. 
  • Continue to expand educational and empowerment opportunities for communities, college campuses, and in high schools.
